Artists for Kids promotes and fosters the infinite possibilities of the creative spirit. It believes in the humanizing power of great art, and operates on the premise that opening doors and providing opportunities can turn potential to reality, especially for gifted youths.
A nonprofit, Los Angeles-based foundation, Artists for Kids was established in 2000 to serve as a launching pad for talented kids. The goal: to encourage fresh, cutting-edge, and ultimately enlightening art, irrespective of gender, cultural heritage, or geography. The modus operandi: to enlist established artists who would donate proceeds from their events or become mentors in support of young talent. Since its founding, Artists for Kids has evolved into a genuinely international organization, with a growing number of world-renowned visual artists and musicians rallied around its central idea. The foundation has also gradually broadened its mandate, now supporting not only creative individuals and groups, but helping improve environments and socio-economic conditions to give the artistic impulse a better chance to thrive.
Openness and an enduring faith in the transformative promise of art are the hallmarks of Artists for Kids. They are about daring to imagine a kinder, gentler world community... by supporting all those who hear the beat of a different drum. Today's fledgling talents; tomorrow's beacons of light.
