The Armenian Relief Society (ARS) of Western U.S.A. is a part of a worldwide humanitarian organization founded in New York City in 1910.
The ARS serves the societal and educational needs of Armenian communities everywhere, seeking to preserve the cultural identity of the Armenian nation, and, whenever and wherever the need arises, to bring humanitarian help to all communities in distress – Armenian and non-Armenian alike.
The ARS is an independent, non-sectarian and non-governmental organization, on the Roster in consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. There are ARS affiliate entities in 24 different countries with over 18,000 members.
